ABA Therapy & Learning Center Houston

If your child has been diagnosed with autism, it’s never too late or too early to begin making progress with behavior therapy. The earlier the intervention, the better the results. Your child learns differently than others, but with the right treatment and encouragement they will be able to make academic and social achievements in their own unique way.

Our clinic-based program creates an environment where children with autism can learn the skills and behaviors they need to succeed socially, academically and in many other aspects of life.

The comprehensive curriculum in our Grand Oak Academy ABA private school allows us to implement common core standards and accommodate the needs of each individual student.

We know that every child is different and learns in their own unique way – So we tailor our therapy and academic curriculum to offer individualized support. To learn more, give us a call today.

Who Are We?

The Behavior Therapy and Learning Center (Behavior TLC) is operated and owned by two dedicated and caring Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA’s). We are passionate about providing services of Applied Behavior Analysis for our clients. We work with individuals with Autism and other intellectual or developmental disabilities, as well as their families. We are located in the Greater Houston Area, with offices in Northwest Houston and Clear Lake. Our services include after school social skills programs, a clinic-based day program, school consultation, parent and teacher training and an ABA private school. We do accept insurance. We provide a full academic curriculum along with individualized goals with daily progress tracking on academics, social skills and behavior. Our day program and social skills programs have a ratio of one therapist to each student. In Grand Oak Academy, our private ABA school we have a ratio of one teacher to three students, each makes for an optimal learning environment. Everyone is welcome here. We accept all clients who could potentially benefit from our services, no matter their diagnosis, age or the severity of their behavior. We will work together with each client and their family to develop a personalized, one of a kind therapy program. Any child in the state of Texas with a diagnosis of ASD will be excused from public school to attend ABA therapy with a school excuse note from the clinic. .

Who Can We Help?

We work with students with a range of special needs, including Asperger’s, autism, speech delays and other developmental and intellectual disabilities. A diagnosis is not required to apply for admission (although it will be required for your insurance company for reimbursing expenses.)

We have helped a wide range of children with different developmental disabilities, so if you feel your child could benefit from our treatment give us a call today. We can come up with a personalized treatment plan that will help your child to succeed to their full potential. .

We Educate with Positive Reinforcement

We believe it’s important to teach children using positive reinforcement. Our first form of treatment will always be to positively reinforce appropriate behaviors rather than focus on the negative behaviors. Positive reinforcement is encouraging, builds confidence and motivates students to succeed.

Everyone is Welcome

We have no requirements regarding age, diagnosis or severity of behavior when it comes to our treatments. Everyone is welcome and we will meet you where you are so we can develop a personalized therapy plan. If you know someone who could benefit from ABA intervention, contact us today to learn more about the options we have to offer.

We Accept Insurance

When it comes to well-being, mental health is just as important as physical health. Many health insurance companies are now offering coverage for behavior therapy treatment, such as the customized personal therapy we offer for children with an ASD diagnosis. You will need an official medical diagnosis in order to qualify for insurance coverage. Contact us to learn how therapy can be covered on your insurance plan – as every plan is different so we will need to verify your insurance coverage for you.

Your Child’s Therapy is Unique

We know that everyone is different and what works for one child might not work for another. We take the time to get to know each of our clients so that we can provide therapy that is individualized to each child. We will continually assess the child’s progress in order to make sure we are helping them to develop in a positive way.

We believe the idea of “teaching to the middle” leaves many children without the education they need. This is why we focus on individualized education plans for each student.  Our students will receive all of the same benefits that they would get in a traditional school environment, while they continue to learn at their own pace through unique and individualized instruction.

You’ll Be Kept up to Date

We have much more rigorous and accurate mastery criteria and data collection than most typical school systems. There is constant and ongoing monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans and Individualized Education Plans. You will be provided with a monthly report card and quarterly progress notes. Your child will not need to adhere to the standardized state testing of the public schools, they will be aligned to ABA data collection systems that ensure maintenance, generalization and mastery.

Teamwork is Important

We value working as a team with parents and caregivers as well as with outside professionals. We know that the more we work together the better we will be able to help children with their behavior therapy. We welcome any feedback and questions and encourage you to be active and engaged in your child’s learning process.
