Enrollment and ABA Therapy Cost/Tuition

Grand Oak Academy is designed to best suit those students who have met pre-learner goals as determined by the ABLLS and/or VB-MAPP assessments. This ensures their success in a 1 to 3 ratio as well as being ready and able to pursue higher academic goals. Grand Oak Academy staff will assess each applicant to determine which Behavior TLC program best fits the student’s needs.

With Behavior TLC as the parent company, Grand Oak Academy private school students have access to full wrap around services. Grand Oak Academy students in the classroom may need some extra one-on-one ABA time outside of class, or they may need an ABA Therapist to come into the classroom occasionally for extra support. Students may need to continue to work on non-academic skills such as tying shoes, dressing, or fine motor skills. All of these needs can be addressed both by Behavior TLC and Grand Oak Academy.

Our intake committee may recommend Behavior TLC’s Day Program (1 on 1), Grand Oak Academy’s Transition service Classroom Connections (1 on 2 in a half day) or the full day Grand Oak Academy program (1 on 3) based on their assessment.

Enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year will be limited to ages 4-8 years old (Pre-K to First Grade) on the first day of school. We do have plans to increase age groups and class grades gradually 1 to 2 times per year given enrollment and curriculum.

Enrollment Process:

  1. Contact Behavior TLC at 281-461-6888 to schedule a tour with our Grand Oak Academy intake team
  2. At intake, we will discuss your family’s goals and needs and schedule your student’s assessment
  3. There are pre-determined criteria that must be mastered from the ABLLS (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills) in order to be considered for enrollment in Grand Oak Academy. This ensures that our students are capable of being successful in a 1 to 3 ratio as well as are surrounded by peers with similar skill sets for social development.
  4. Assessment can take anywhere from 3-12 hours to complete. Once finished, another parent meeting will be scheduled to review the results and give you our recommendations on which program best suits your student’s needs (Day Program, Club TLC, Grand Oak Academy Classroom Connections, and Grand Oak Academy full day).
  5. During the assessment process and continuing on through the student’s enrollment, functional behavior assessments can be conducted whenever needed.
  6. Also during this process a Behavior Intervention Plan may be created if needed with the expectation to reduce behaviors during the class day as well as through parent training.

Tuition:

  • The regular school year will be based off of a 190-day, year round school calendar starting in the 2017-2018 school year.
  • Tuition may be paid in full or spread out into monthly payments. Tuition can be prorated to the month the student enrolls, we will not prorate to days or for absences or tardiness. Part-time enrollment is not currently offered unless in the Classroom Connections Transition Phase.
  • We do accept year-round enrollment.
  • Tuition is a flat-rate and includes parent-teacher conferences, caregiver training, report writing, assessments, and any other service needed to ensure your child’s educational needs are being met.
  • Tuition does not include celebration expenses or field trips.
  • If some students are in the transition process they may be eligible for a half day rate of $85 per day. There is no yearly tuition calculated for half-day/transition students as each student’s schedule will vary to best suit their unique needs.

**Insurance: Yes! As an ABA clinic providing ABA therapy from fully credentialed staff and ensuring that each child has individualized goals being tracked on a daily basis, the school program can submit insurance claims. All families wishing to pursue insurance coverage must go through a Verification of Benefits process. All parents who use insurance to reimburse for the cost of the school will be responsible for any claims the insurance company does not pay as well as their own patient portion cost including copays, co-insurance, and deductibles.
